Therapeutic ketosis is designed for people that want to heal the body's relationship with some of its most important hormones: insulin, leptin and ghrelin. When these hormones are imbalanced or non-functioning, processes like insulin resistance, diabetes, weight gain/fat storage, constant hunger/cravings, fatigue, heart disease, high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol and inflammation occur. Some noted "side effects" of adopting a ketogenic way of eating can include weight loss, significant abdominal fat loss, reduction in blood pressure, reduction in triglycerides, an increase in HDL, reversal of type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome, among others. This program is offered as a stand alone or can be taken after reaching your goal weight on our accelerated weight loss program.
To start the program, you must book an assessment (see details above). After the initial assessment week, you will visit once weekly with a nurse for health parameter monitoring, nutritional and goal coaching and evidence based dietary adjustments as required.
